Licensed Clinical Social Worker

Bridgett Bollin (she/her)

I believe that a meaningful experience in therapy can change your life.

If you are reading this, you know it is time for something to change—even if you aren’t sure what that is.

Symptoms like depression, anxiety, and panic grab our attention—they alert us that something is wrong.

My job is to listen attentively, to do my best to understand you and what you are struggling with, and to ask you the important questions—to help you gain perspective beyond what you can figure out on your own. So often my clients have worked hard to cope for months or years before reaching out for help, and they want more than simple suggestions or easy answers. Life’s challenges are rarely simple, and understanding ourselves is a lifelong journey.

I work with adults from college age to across the lifespan, offering psychotherapy as well as psychoanalysis (a related type of therapy that involves meeting more frequently). Insight-oriented therapy is beneficial for a multitude of problems, but is particularly recommended for problems that you have struggled with for a long time, or for repetitive patterns that keep happening in your personal or professional life.

Together we will explore your therapy goals and recommendations for the kind of treatment that may be most helpful for you. My goal is to help you feel safe enough to be open and honest in the therapy relationship, including your experience of treatment. Understanding the feelings that come up about the therapy process can help illuminate how you often feel in your life outside the office, and give us a better understanding of your experience in the world.

My background & approach

I have been practicing as a psychotherapist and clinical social worker for nearly 15 years. I received my Master of Social Work from the University of Pennsylvania in 2009, and completed post-graduate training at Bryn Mawr College and the Penn Center for the Study and Treatment of Anxiety.

I completed a 3-year certificate program in Psychodynamic Psychotherapy at the Psychoanalytic Center of Philadelphia, where I am now continuing my training as an Analytic Candidate in Psychoanalysis. I’m passionate about the power of therapy to heal and change lives, and help mentor new clinicians as a clinical supervisor and through organizing the Saturday Morning Case Conference series at PCOP.
