Our Values & Our Approach
At Emerge we want to understand all of who you are. This means we encourage you to share freely about what matters to you, and there are no “wrong” questions or comments—even about the therapy process itself. Our clinicians are affirming of diverse identities (race, culture, gender, sexuality, HAES, sex positive, poly/kink affirming). We recognize how inequality impacts mental health and advocate for social justice both through impowering our clients, and in our communities.
Ready for a change?
You’ve come to the right place.
Part of being human is that we have complicated feelings, and conflicts inside ourselves that are not easy to understand. It is at these stuck points that the things you do to handle it on your own aren’t enough.
At Emerge, our therapists are trained to help you uncover things outside your awareness that are contributing to your problems. Have you ever come to therapy, knowing that you want and need help, but then not knowing what to talk about? Our providers can help you remove the blocks that make it so hard to get at the important things, the things that are hard to talk about or maybe feel silly or not worth worrying about. You can trust your therapist to be attentive and engaged in the process of learning what matters to you and partnering to work toward your therapeutic goals. It is an active process we engage in together.
Our warm and approachable clinicians help you to better understand yourself and your tendencies in relationships. We help you make sense of your past and how it shaped you, while finding the freedom to live in new ways going forward.
Patients who do well with this approach tend to be curious to understand themselves; open to reflecting about their thoughts and feelings; or looking to "dig deeper". Often we work with patients who had brief or superficial therapy in the past that felt unsatisfying and know they want “something more”.
All of these are excellent indicators that psychodynamic therapy may be what you have been looking for.
