Rachel Frome (she/her)

Licensed Clinical Social Worker

Do you see what the problems are, yet you still feel stuck?

Together we can help you transform that awareness into change.

There’s a big difference between thinking and feeling something to be true. Many of my clients are painfully aware of their patterns, but despite their best efforts, they struggle to embody their values. I know firsthand how hard and frustrating therapy can be for just this reason, as well as how life-changing a good therapeutic relationship can be.

In my practice, I work with individuals who have experienced trauma, relationship issues, and want to work through life transitions, and boundary setting. I help my clients develop tools, communicate more effectively, clarify their needs, unlearn old unhelpful beliefs about themselves, and get unstuck from painful patterns. Together we will look at your past to understand what you’re still hanging onto that you’d like to let go of.

My background & approach

I am trained in Psychodynamic Psychotherapy and CBT, and integrate the two modalities based on each client’s needs. This means I can help you understand links between the past and present, while also helping you develop skills for coping and emotional regulation as you engage in therapy. Clients would describe my therapy approach as calm and warm with a sense of humor, and with good boundaries.

I received my Masters in Social Work from The University of Pennsylvania and completed post-graduate training at Bryn Mawr College in both CBT and Psychodynamic Therapy.

Prior to becoming a psychotherapist, I worked with nonprofits on systems and organizational change including DEI and anti-racism work, and art facilitation with youth. As a therapist, I am sensitive to issues of diversity—race, gender, sexuality—both as important to understanding the lived experience of my clients, and also as these show up in therapy.
